Fitness is key

Fitness is important.  It keeps your body healthy, which helps keep you happy, and live longer, and be more physically attractive (generally).

But this guy, or girl, loves fitness.  He calls himself a fitness junkie.  How much time per week does a person have to spend working on fitness to be an official fitness junkie?

I’m guessing he has this plate to mainly to impress others, not to really show off his fitness level.  If he was truly a fitness junkie, he’d be running or riding his bike, not driving.

I bike to work most days, and I’m in the gym more often than not.  I should a little bike license plate that declares my fitness level.  Only it has to be higher than Junkie, since that’s clearly not a tough title to get.  Maybe FITGURU or FITPIMP.

I am the law!

Lawyers are an interesting breed of people.  They argue, all the time.  It’s their job.  It infects their lives.  Not that they are argumentative, but they usually enjoy the process of arguing.

Now, to the point of why: Why would someone want to get this plate?  Most people don’t feel the need to advertise their profession on the back of their car.

Maybe she does it to brag about what she does, trying to make all of the other drivers around her jealous of her career.

Maybe she does it scare the other drivers around her.  If you’re going to mess with another car, you wouldn’t want to mess with someone who is experienced in matters of law.  If, somehow, you were careening out of control and had to pick one of two cars to collide with, wouldn’t you avoid the car with the legal professional?

Or maybe her last name happens to be Lawyer and I’m just over analyzing this whole thing.

EGGROLL!!!

num num num.  Who doesn’t love egg rolls?  I love ‘em.  They are half the reason I get the lunch special at California Vegan.  I would get them at Panda Express, except they count egg rolls as an entree and not as a side, which is what they really are, so that wouldn’t really fill me up.

There are hundreds of egg rolls recipes, which speaks to their broad appeal.  If you don’t like garlic egg rolls, maybe you could go for some chicken and banana egg rolls.  There are even patents relating to egg rolls.

I bet 99% of all people in the world love some form of egg rolls.  For the millions of people in various parts of the world who have not had the pleasure of egg rolling (which is how I will now refer to eating egg rolls), I’m sure they would love if they had the chance to try them.

But the important thing isn’t how much everyone loves egg rolls.  I want to know how much this person loves egg rolls that they decided to buy this plate and share their love with the world.  Sadly, I didn’t have the chance to ask them since I took this photo while driving down the freeway, but I’m sure they love egg rolls more than Yogi loves picnic baskets.

and so it begins…

self-fulfilling prophecy

self-fulfilling prophecy?

This is the first photo that I took of a vanity plate.  I remember it vividly: It was January 4th, 2007; it was a rainy day… and that’s all I remember since that’s all the information that is stored along with the file.  Really, I don’t remember anything about it.  I don’t even remember which camera I took the picture with.

But this photo woke something deep inside me.  A sleeping beast that yearned to capture the vanity of others, so brazenly displayed on the license plates of their cars, through photographs had been roused.  This beast has since laid claim to hundreds of vanity plates.

This interest of mine has confused many.  People don’t understand.  Why would anyone want to take photographs of all of the vanity plates?  I admit, there have been times when I’m ashamed.  I try to hide it.  But it always comes out eventually.  They catch me staring, notice me trying to discreetly take a photo of, what to them is just a car, but to me is so much more.  Thankfully my friends are very understanding and they accept me for who I am.  We all have our quirks, and this one is mine.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
